Getting to Nationals Park

We highly recommend taking advantage of the Washington DC Metro to get to Nationals Park from our hotel. Board the train at Foggy Bottom, get off at the Navy Yard Station, and you’re just one block from the ballpark!

You can also take an Uber or Lyft to the ballpark's convenient, designated drop-off and pick-up spots. If you’d rather drive yourself, it’s a 15-minute car ride (without traffic) to the stadium. Our friends at Nationals Park suggests reserving your parking spot ahead of time online.

Inside Nationals Park

washington nationals baseball game

Once you’re inside Nationals Park, there’s plenty to see! Completed in 2008, the ballpark is state of the art, reflecting the architecture of the city it represents - but with a modern edge. Built with glass, steel, and concrete, each concourse and seating deck is like a unique neighborhood with a distinctive experience and view. From different vantage points along the ballpark’s vertical circulation ramps, baseball fans can take in panoramic, spectacular views of the Capitol Riverfront, Navy Yard, and historical city sites like the Washington Monument and the Capitol!

When the game begins, there’s not a bad seat in the house thanks to the innovative design of the 41,546-seat venue and 4,500 square feet of LED scoreboard. The ambiance is intentionally interactive, providing fans plenty of entertainment and FUN while enjoying all nine innings.

Finding the Perfect Seats

Whether you're on a family vacation, embarking upon an MLB stadium tour, or cheering on the team from your hometown, Nationals Park offers a range of different ballpark experiences. To cheer on the visiting team, buy tickets in sections 116 and 117, which are located behind the away team's dugout. If you're looking for a great, kid-friendly experience, try to sit between sections 140 and 143, which are located near the Family Fun area. Looking to party as you cheer on the Nats? Sections 401 to 404 provide the ideal atmosphere for drinking, eating, and making new friends.

The Salt Line

Once you’ve arrived near Nationals Park, go directly to The Salt Line. This spectacular seafood restaurant opens 90 minutes before each Nationals home game in order to accommodate hungry fans. They specialize in New England-style seafood with a local twist, offering fried clams, a raw bar, and plenty of beers on tap.

Due South

As the name implies, Due South, near the Navy Yard, offers a creative, Southeast take on Southern cuisine. The menu is loaded with old favorites like Shrimp and Grits as well as a Pitmaster’s Platter, complete with smoked sausage and pulled pork. Offering brunch, lunch, and dinner, you can sip on lemonade or enjoy a local beer before or after the game.

The Sovereign

Since a ballgame without a cold one just wouldn’t be a ballgame at all, we recommend walking to The Sovereign. Their beer list is out-of-control good with draft offerings from American craft breweries like Perennial, Jolly Pumpkin, and Oxbow, as well as lambics and Trappist ales hailing from Belgium and France. The Sovereign’s menu matches their beer list with authentic, hearty fare mimicking a Belgian bistro with a seasonal twist.

Farmers Fishers Bakers

Catching an afternoon game? We recommend enjoying a locally-inspired brunch at Farmers Fishers Bakers before heading to Nationals Park. A quick, five-minute walk from Georgetown Suites, this DC favorite offers down-to-earth, farm-to-table dining. Familiar dishes like pizza, pretzels, tacos, and burgers dot the menu, but are approached with a socially conscious and hand-crafted style. Their from-scratch cocktail list is locally sourced but out of this world!
